Josh:
It all started back in 2001 at the age of 14. I would go to the stake dances thinking I was as cool as ever with my friends Dustin, Dallas, and Jordan. We were standing in a circle laughing, checking out all the cute girls. I noticed this one girl and told my friend Dallas to push me into her. Well Dallas didn't just push me into the cute girl, but he shoved me, I flew right into the cute girl knocking her to floor, knocking the wind out of her and bruising her ribs.I got up out of embarrassment helped her up and then just walked away danced with a couple other girls and then asked the cute girl to dance. I found out her name was Brynne. I got her number and that's when it all started. We started talking till 2 or 3 o clock in the morning for hours and hours.
Her sister, Alyse, was in my seminary class and Brynne would write me notes, pass them to Alyse, and then Alyse would pass them to me. Sometimes them being 5 pages 10 pages 20 pages. I challenged her once to write me a 50 page note and she literally made me a book. It was pretty sweet. Well we dated on and off through out high school. Had our ups and downs. Went to prom together twice, well once but I asked twice, then I had the nerve to bail out on her the night before prom and just took her to dinner instead. And then to morp one year.
I went to school up at BYU-I and her and her family, came to Idaho and went to Bear World. She invited me and that's when I met her brothers Austin and Garen and Lisa (her cousin) and Dad. Well I came back from college and was home for about 8 months seeing Brynne every once in a while and went on dates.
I went on a mission to Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Sri Lanka. She wrote me twice, my whole mission but I wasn't bothered by it because I was too busy writing other girls. I served the 2 year mission and then came home. The day after I got home I called Brynne and asked if she wanted to go to lunch. She said sure so we went to Wendy's and she bought my lunch because I didn't have any money. I thought to myself, wow this was a mistake. She is so weird. Now that I think about it, I didn't even see her at my homecoming.
9 days after I got home from my mission I went to BYU-I and went to school for a semester and then came home. Got a job, worked, dated went to school. My friend Troy, Raylon, Jordan, and I would always try to find girls to date but none of them really seem to work for us. Then I decided to Facebook Brynne and see what she was doing. I sent her a message and to my surprise the next day, she sent one back. She was living in Las Vegas and I was planning on going to Las Vegas later that month with my friends but they all bailed on me. So because I now have a friend in Las Vegas I'll go by myself. I went to Las Vegas and she showed me around, I again met her family, and it was pretty nice. I was there for 3 days and then came back home. I thought you know, she is kind of cute, lets try this again. So because I was such a bad boyfriend in the past I wasn't going to make the same mistake. I bought her a book that she wanted and surprised her with it in the mail. I think that was the first thing I have ever bought her. I started talking to her a lot an texting her a lot. She came down to Arizona to visit me and we had our first second kiss in the park at a golf course, on the green. Things picked up from there and we started visiting each other twice a month. I would go to Las Vegas and she would go to Arizona. Well she came down on Thanksgiving, in 2010 and I got a small ring from the pizza hut toy machines, took her out by the pool at my parents house and proposed. She laughed...... and then said yes. We started planning from there. We got married and are now living in Las Vegas with her parents while we save up enough money to move into a house.
Brynne:
When you are 14 and not able to drive it really limits the options of what you can do on a Saturday night. Apparently the cool thing to do then was to go to the stake dances. So that is exactly what Kaitlyn and I would do. Well during one of those dances Kaitlyn and I were talking and all the sudden this guy came flying from out of no where and ran into me. He actually came full force crashing into me and knocked me to the ground. It was hard to breathe and hurt so bad. When I got up Kaitlyn and I went out into the hall and I asked her who the heck that was. He knocks me over gets up and leaves. She said that is Josh and that’s the way he is. I should have known right then and there that this guy was going to be trouble, but for some reason I didn't care to listen. So when he asked me to dance of course I said yes. I mean I am a 14 year old girl here and this really cute guy is showing interest in me.
Later on I started going to his church softball games, writing him notes all the time, staying up way too late talking on the phone or IMing on the computer. We dated throughout high school. He asked me to prom twice. The first time around wasn't the greatest, but the second time was so much fun. I thought Josh was the greatest thing in the world and would do just about anything for him. It always seemed like no matter what happened we would end up back together.
He went off to college and I still had my senior year of high school to enjoy. We stayed friends and would talk every now and then. I even visited him when I was up in Idaho with my family. When it was time for him to leave on his mission I went to his farewell. I only wrote him a couple of times while he was gone. A few days after he got home he invited me to go out to lunch. I figured why not it could be fun, and I could hear some cool stories from his mission. That lunch was definitely nothing like I expected it to be. Josh was so weird. The way he acted was weird, the way he talked was weird, and to top it off I got to pay for lunch because he didn't have any money. After that experience I thought to myself what did I ever see in him. We are completely different people.
A few years went by and I was now living in Las Vegas when one day I got a facebook friend request and message from none other than Josh Yeaman. The message said "Yo girl can I get your number, please can I get your number. I actually laughed out loud when I read it and figured sure why not and gave it to him. We ended up starting to talk all the time again. Texting all day, staying up extremely late talking on the phone, and then he asked if he could come visit Las Vegas. He said it was supposed to be him and a group of friends, but they all bailed on him at the last minute so it was just him. I'm still not sure how much I really believe that.
It didn't take too long for that twitterpation feeling inside me to come back. I was completely falling for him all over again, but I thought this time it was going to be different because I am different and so was he. And sure enough it was. I figured I would play hard to get, but it didn't take him long before he got me to drive to Arizona to visit him. After that it was always hard to leave. We were constantly planning the next trip for one of us to see the other. And then it finally happened. He proposed and made me the happiest person in the world!
We have a long and funny past with each other, but I wouldn't trade it for anything because it got us to where we are now.
