Brynne had to do a c-section because the baby just wasn't coming. She made it 40 weeks and 3 days and after they checked she was still dilated to a zero. So they gave her some Cervigel   to help her cervix open up a little more. The following day, she went to a 3. So it was progressing. So they induced her with plutocin hoping to help start the labor. A good time later they checked again and she was at a 5. This is when she decided to take an epidural. She was in so much pain, but I am so proud of her for all that she endured. She was amazing the whole time. I'm not going to lie, it was hard to see her in so much pain and not be able to do anything about it. Anyways, after the epidural she was good for another 6 hours. At this point, they had Brynne hooked up to 9 different machines. That is when Dr. Jarem came in and looked at her again and said, "Well, we have done everything we can do to help you have the baby. (Which by the way we still didn't have a name for him so we were just calling him Spartacus or Sparty. The nurses at the hospital loved it!) She then said we should do a caesarean section. We said ok and within an hour they had her all ready to go. It was pretty exciting. I'm very grateful that mom Yeaman, and mom Erickson were there the whole day to help and support us. It was very nice.

All suited up
I suited up in the blue clothes and off we went in to the operating room. It all seemed to surreal at the moment. All I really remember them saying is, "Don't touch anything blue." Well there was like a darker blue tile so I made sure not to step on the blue square tile. I went to the extreme. Anyways, I wanted to watch them do the surgery but I guess there was some miscommunication along the way and the next thing I knew, the anastheeologists  told me to look up and I looked up and I saw the little baby. He was as quite as could be. The cleaned the baby off and took him over and rested him on Brynne's neck. They then took him to clean up and I followed. He still was quite and not crying. The people did a few things to clean him up and get him to breathe so that went well.

The take the baby and I back into the LD room (labor and delivery) and took his measurements and weight and gave him a bath and all that good stuff. Both Grandma's were still in the room but they had to leave at first sign of Brynne. They got to see him, as I was holding him. They put some goop in his eyes. I think it was erythromycin gel (antibacterial stuff for his eyes). Later that evening after Brynne and I held him, we decided we should think of a name. After a while we decided Jackson Robert Yeaman is a good strong name, (not as strong as the name Spartacus of course) but it would do. :-)

We stayed at the hospital a few nights while they ran a few tests and made sure their vitals were fine. Well they weren't. The baby's blood sugar was low so they ran a few more tests and the next test he passed. Then they checked Jackson's blood and it should high billiruben count so he went down into the nursery so they can put him under a uv light. Brynne and I were a little worried, at the time we had no idea what that mean, but something is wrong with the baby so we naturally start to worry. We got back to our hospital room and said a small prayer. Instantly we had a peaceful feeling that everything would be ok. It was the best night sleep we have had since we have been there. The next day he came back to our room and had his hearing test. She came in hooked him up and walked out. She said it was the fastest hearing test she has ever done.  Ace!

Well everything went good we had tons of visitors and would like to thank everyone who came and checked up on Brynne and little Jackson. We left the hospital monday around noon and came home for the first time. It was exciting.

Brynne has adapted very well to being a little mommy. She is doing great. Jackson still isn't much of a crier. He cried when we gave him his first bath, (the water might have been a little too cold), and very little when he is hungry. We lucked out and is the cutest. I love the little faces he makes. Sooo many different facial expressions. Just in case those we came to our house to see Jackson and Brynne, I would like to give them a shout out as well. We appreciate the food that has been brought and all the kind acts of family and friends.

Oh and for the record, yes, I have changed multiple diapers. :-) I'm still afraid I'm goin to break him but it took me a few days to feel comfortable holding him and picking him up. One down, 11 more to go.  :-)
